Vital International Foundation USMLE Preparatory Course

 

Vital International Foundation has instituted a new program that focuses on preparing West African medical doctors and medical students to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) for licensure in the United States.

Interested candidates are recruited throughout the globe for an intensive six-week preparation course for each USMLE part. All classes are held on the premises of Vital in Accra, Ghana. Students will travel to Ghana to participate in the program and take the examination. WHO CAN JOIN THE PROGRAM

Any medical doctor with a medical degree from an accredited school.

Any medical student who has completed basic sciences curriculum, currently in clinical rotations (clerkship) from an accredited school.

All applicants must also have a resume describing clinical experience.

HOW TO APPLY

Our program requires a minimum commitment of six weeks. To apply, you must fill out a registration and release form with a non-refundable deposit of $50.00. The $50.00 deposit is required to reserve a place in the program.

THE PROGRAM

The program is a combination of classroom lectures, Internet review courses, and practice examinations. Upon successful completion of the course and passing of the USMLE Part 1, 2 & CSA, doctors can receive their certificate from the USA Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates, ECFMG, which qualifies them for residency (housejob). Residents will receive sponsorship and contract to work in a hospital in the United States for at least one to three years.

THE EXAMINATION

If a candidate fails the exam he/she will have the opportunity to take it for a second time at half the initial program cost, however they will still be required to pay for accommodations, meals, and transportation and registration fees in Ghana. If the examination is failed, they must wait 45 days before being allowed to retake (sit) the examination.
